6 months old today :)

Today is a pretty big deal for us. Liam turned 6 months old today. There was a point right after he was born that we had alot of doubts that he would ever see 6 months but God blessed us and allowed us to keep our miracle baby. The journey has been everything but easy and simple. We had our ups and down, a heck of alot more downs than ups, but we've survived so far. Everytime I think it's all too much, I just remember that it used to be harder. That watching him paralyzed lying in that bed hooked to the ECMO machine was harder than all the meds and g-tube feeding, teething and changing of diapers. It's that very idea that has got me this far. We didn't throw a huge party, we didn't make a huge deal out of today. We celebrated in a mild and calm way. Both Justin and I got cuddle time with Liam this morning. Liam and I had a nice hour long nap curled up in bed with him in my arms. After I went to pick up his meds and go grocery shopping. Justin stayed home with both kids and even had to change a few diapers while I was gone. I came back to Justin sitting on the floor rocking Liam in his arms. It was sweet. We celebrated with steak, potatoes, asparagus for dinner and chocolate fudge cake for desert. We bought Liam one of those bath books because theyre slobber and chew proof and a sippy cup. Hopefully he will take to the sippy cup since he refuses to use a bottle. It's just been a nice and calm day for us. Liam has been content with rolling on the floor, playing with his toys and looking at himself in his mirror. I love watching him. When he holds his oball he can switch from hand to hand now. He thinks he so cool lol. It's been 48 hours now that we've stopped his reglan and I can see the difference in him. He doesn't get as easily overstimulated. He was able to stay in the living room with us all day today. Usually we have to swaddle him and put him in his bed throughout the day because it's all too much for him. He even reached out to play with his fisherprice racetrack toy we bought him at christmas that overstimulated him. He was lying there on the floor in from of it and reached out to play with the toys on the side. We haven't tried to turn it on again yet though. It been a great day and we feel so blessed. Tomarrow we're going to try taking im to church for the first time. Hopefully he can handle it. Everytime we've tried to go before he always woke up sick so we've had to postpone. I can't wait to introduce him to our congrigation that has been praying for him for so long. I just want to thank you all for praying for Liam and our family and for caring enough to keep comming here and reading his updates.
