I’ve been having to live with a this booming radio going on since I got home on Saturday. My husband has lived with this annoyance for weeks now. Someone over a mile away from us is bumping their truck stereo system and we can hear it all the way over here, loudly. It keeps my son from sleeping. My medically fragile son that just got out of the hospital and needs all the sleep he can get. We’ve been calling the Tulare County Sheriffs every day because its getting worse and worse. Today we agreed to sign a written complaint. The Sheriffs that showed us told us there is no noise ordinance in the country and the only way they can do anything is for one of us to go over there with the sheriff, make a citizens arrest, then they can write a citation. That citation only means we all have to show up in front of a judge. If the judge deams it unjust then the guy creating all this noise can turn around and sue us for everything we own. The guy will continue to get away with this and my son will continue to loose sleep. If he doesn’t get sleep he wont put on weight and he wont get better. He will end up sick and right back in the hospital. The sheriffs are telling us that we just have to deal live with it and if we call too much then the sheriff captan can “demand” or “force” us to make the citizens arrest according to the sheriff. Where’s the just in that? They get to continue disturbing the peace and we have to “live with it”. We have to live with the consequences of this jerks actions and he gets away with it. The sheriff didn’t care that we have a medically fragile baby and told us we had no other options but to live with it, make the citizens arrest, or move. The laws need to be changed. Technically we live in the country yes, but we are surrounded by neighbors, a mini city in itself practically. If it wasn’t for the field in front of us, we’d forget we even lived way out here. I feel that something needs to be done, laws need to be changed. My medically fragile son, who was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia should not have to loose out because the Sheriffs are saying they cant do anything to help us. We’ve called every day for 5 days now and the stereo gets shut off for long enough for the sheriffs to leave. This is wrong and unjust. Something needs to be done.
I called Tulare County Sheriffs to get someone's radio turned down to be threatened that I could loose everything I own. They guy basically told us to stop calling.
The police made my kids turn down a small house stereo in the middle of the afternoon and said if they didn't they could be arrested, But all over Tulare on a regular basis Spanish music is blasting so loud well past midnight that can be heard throughout half of Tulare and nothing is done about.
ReplyDeleteSince this post, we've moved back into the city. Everyday someone is blasting loud music. Nothing is done. At least here in the city, most parties fizzle out by midnight where I live.
