Ive already posted about how Liam lost a few "tricks" from all his hospital stays, so now I want to focus on some positives. Today we learned Liam has a few new "tricks". Liam is now a toe sucker. Yes a toe sucker. He grabs his foot and pulls it up to his mouth with ease and just sits there sucking it and looking around. When he catches us watching him, he laughs. He also takes his foot and pulls it behind him when he's on his side, and pulls it up to his butt and to his hips. It looks so weird when he does this. For days now we couldnt figure out how his paci gets on the floor when he is in his crib. Today we saw first hand what he does. He grabs the paci, sticks his hand through the bars, purposely drops it, then cries until you walk up to the crib. When you do, he laughs at you. Liam has an honry streak in him for sure. Liam was hanging out in his swing watching Bubble Guppies with Lanie this morning. When the theme song came on he kicked his feet along with the beat if the music. His bright start teacher said that was really really good that he's finnaly started doing that. The last new thing we learned Liam did today was so awesome. Bright start was here working with him and when she went to leave she waved bye to him and said "bye bye Liam, see you later". What does Liam do? WAVES BACK!!! We did this about 10 times just to be sure thats what he was doing and sure enough he was trying so hard to wave. He actually unclenched his hand and waved it in the air at her. We were all so happy to see that progress. For Liam this is amazing.
And may I add that we are so very happy that Spring is here!! Were praying Spring hold more time spent at home then the hospital along with its beautiful weather. I dont think quarantean will ever be completly over for Liam until after we get that diaphragm fixed but hopefully we will be able to visit more with family and friends. And praying that moving back into town will also help Liam.
