HOME AGAIN :)

Little Liam's 1st St Patricks Day! Also the day he got released from the hospital (for the 6th time)

Saturday was a good day for us. Liam got released from the hospital and we got to come home! I cooked corned beef and potatoes for dinner for the first time and it was yummy. Lanie and I got some mommy daughter alone time in when we went to the grocery store and Rite Aide together. She helped pick out a few things for Liams Easter Basket at Rite Aide since Im determined to get the kids Easter baskets done ASAP in case Liam ends up back in the hospital. She choose a yelow and green Easter egg that lights up for us to set out as a decoration, just in case. The we choose sock monkey slippers and a sock monkey hat. We just need to find him a toy for his basket. I told Lanie we couldnt get her basket stuff when she was with me because then it wouldnt be a suprise. We got a few important things done yesterday and have been busy all day today. All the while Liam has been hanging out happily in his swing, bouncer and crib. Liam also came home to a care package the Spence's sent the kids. It arrived friday apparently but Justin was gracious enough to hide it away from Lanie until Liam got home saturday. The look on Lanies face was pricess, especially when she found out who it was all from. They sent her the cutest stuffed animal, a pink stingray with purple eyes and purple spots. Those of you who know my little girl knows she purple is her favorite color, everything she chooses is purple or has purple in it. Were hard pressed to get her in anything else. Instantly this new toy became her best friend which she named 'Rays'. She insisted that Rays had to go to the store with us as well as sleep with her. Even when she made her way into our bed around 4am she dragged Rays with her. I had to laugh when I found it in my bed this morning. Lanie also ended up with a new outfit that, even though it wasnt completly purple, she LOVED. It must of been the stars lol. As soon as this weather clears up we will be taking her pics in it. She tried to get me to let her wear it, but a skirt in rain just wasnt happening. I am fastly deciding that I spoke too soon because if we added leggings this outfit would work in the rain. All I need to do is get an umbrella and we could get some really cute pics while its still wet outside. Lanie has also been begging to play with the gel window clings they sent, saying that she was absolutely sure they would stick to the fridge, the walls in the hall as well as the window on the back door. We told her to save them for the window in her new room since we are hoping to be moving in the next month. Liam got some super adorable socks that he was in desperate need of now that his feet have finnaly decided to grow. Theres a monkey pair, and a zebra pair among other animals. We love animals and Liam seems to love them too. If he smiles at something then we figure he loves what hes smiling at and he smiled at his new socks. Thank you Spence's for the kids care package. You made two little kids, especialy 1 4 year old, very happy. It was very sweet. I love seeing my little girl smile, something I dont get to see very much of since Ive had to spend the majority of my time at the hospital with Liam. Hopefully its in Gods plans to allow us to stay home for atleast a month. Towards the end of our stay, I didnt find time to post updates on Liam. As it turned out the main problem was Liams severe food allergy and we had to change his formula again to Elecare which is hypoallergenic and amino based. Were praying he doesnt develop an allergy to this formula because its the very last one there is. There are other brands but theyre all the same ingredants. On his discharge paperwork his discharge diagnosis was:
Abnomolies of the diaphragm (being that its interfering in his breathing)
contact dermititis (developed blisters from his video eeg leads)
cough (has stuff in his lungs hes coughing up)
dehydration (from vommiting when we took him in)
diapragmatic hernia (since alot of his issues stem from this)
diarrhea (we dont know why but hasnt gone away)
esophageal reflux (we knew this only they changed it from just acid reflux)
failure to thrive (knew this but he had lost more weighed)
feeding problems (severe food allergy)
gastrostomy status
reactive airway disease
respitory distress

Thats not even what we found out the last visit's discharge 72 hours prior to this last visit which included asthma. No one is allowed to smoke near Liam, we seriously didnt need to be told this because it didnt happen before, were smarter than that. He cant be around any smoke which includes candles, fireplace and BBQ's. So the naighbors burning he cant be around as well as other bonfires or candles. We also learned that he cannot be around anything with a strong scent, like pine sol (has to be heavily watered down), strong purfumes or arisols. Maybe we should have asked if he was allowed to be around himself when he pooed because thats a strong scent lmao just kidding. We also have to use heavy duty filters in our air purifiers, which they were happy to hear we bought because of Liam. They also said we shouldnt use a water cooler with him because all it does it takes outside air, dust and allergens and throws them in the house. Basically they confirmed for us that we have to move because this place is everything he cant be around. We've gathering boxes, packing, checking listings daily. We think we found 2 places that we could make work so hopefully we can go look at them this week and put in an application. Send out a prayer for us please that we get a place soon and get moved for Liams sake. Im hoping the new place will be within walking distance to a park for Lanies sake but its not a requirement by any means. Were praying that moving will be the key to keeping our little Liam out of the hospital for decent periods of time. If weve had a month out of the hospital than we call it a success.

****Special Thank You to Will and Bekka Young who donated to the kid's care package. You brought the hugest smile to a little girls face that I have seen in a long time! It was very sweet of everyone to do this.
