Easy Homemade Turkey Chili

Fall will soon be here and with that a change in the foods we eat. One of our favorite cold day foods is homemade turkey chili. We use ground turkey because it's mostly fat free and easier on our stomachs. We also like the taste more than hamburger.

Easy Homemade Turkey Chili Recipe:
2 lbs ground turkey (get the leanest you can find)
20 oz can diced tomatoes
15.25 oz can pinto beans
15.25 oz can black beans
15 oz can tomato sauce
1 large onion (I use yellow but use what you like. I've also used green onions)
1 pkg McCormac Original Chili seasoning
1 tsp oil (Vegi, olive, canola whatever you prefer)

1) Dice your onion and place it in a pan with about 1 tsp oil, let cook for about 5 min
2) Add your ground turkey to the pan and brown with the onion and season. I use garlic powder, pepper, ravens and chili powder.
3) I use a crockpot to cook my chili but you can use a stock pot. Combine tomatoes, beans, sauce, seasoning and browned meat and onion mixture in your pot and stir.
4) I took this in the crockpot on low all day so the flavors mix together and penetrate everything. Since the meat is already cooked when you add it to everything you only need to cook until everything is well warmed, maybe 20-30 min.

We like to eat this with cornbread or on fries and hotdogs.
