Flash Back Friday: Baba

I don't know if any of your remember Liam's very favorite stuffed puppy Baba. He used to carry Baba everywhere. Baba was the first toy he really took too and the first one he ever named. He said Baba before he even said mommy or daddy! The day he named Baba was epic. It was during a Bright Start visit and we were using the stuffed dog to get his eyes to follow it around as well as reach out for it. It was one of the only toys for a very long time that he was willing to hang on to and hold.

He had looked at the stuffed puppy and worked himself up to say "baba". All jaws dropped. WHOO HOO!! It was awesome. I had been on the verge of tears, trying so hard to keep those from escaping. I was so happy. He was showing signs of improving and this day was huge. Since then he's always called that stuffed puppy Baba. When we moved July of 2012 Baba went missing. I had been so careful throughout the move to keep Baba close to Liam but somehow he went missing. It wasn't until August of 2012 that Baba (or baba's twin brother) returned home to us. You see after 2 weeks of looking for Baba I gave in and bought a new one off Amazon. I just couldn't keep this little boy away from his puppy, and I couldn't imagine anything else soothing him during his hospital stays. He needed his puppy.

Baba was ingrained into our lives. It felt like he was a part of Liam because everywhere Liam went that puppy went too. Baba was buy his side while recovering from several surgeries, countless hospital stays and many days spent sick  in bed. Baba offered just as much comfort, or maybe even more, than he got from me. At the time Baba went missing he had been with Liam for 6 months. 6 months was a long time for the adventures he went through.

Baba stayed by Liam side through so many hospital stays.
His smiling face and soft patchwork body always helped Liam feel better.

Liam's 11 month pictures were taken with Baba by his side.

Where is Baba now?
Oh he's around...and so is his twin brother that also goes by the name Baba lol. We keep them by Liam's bed afraid to loose them again. They still provide lots of comfort and love. He still chews on their ears and tails and plays with them. Sometimes he makes barking noises and acts like Baba did it. He also likes to pretend Baba is licking him and he will laugh and say "OOOh puppy your funny" and "stop licking". It just more proof that a bond between a boy and his puppy cannot be broken.

Work Work Work

A mommies job is never done, weather at home or on the job, especially with a new addition to our home!

Meet Willie, our Duck Dynasty lovin Boxer puppy.

Willie was born 8/06/13 and is the sweetest, calmest puppy I have ever met. He's not mine, he's Justin's but by how much I spoil him you'd think he was mine. I claim him anyhow.

Our Willie boy dressed to resemble Duck Dynasty's Willie complete with stuffed duck. I also bought him a camp bandana to wear around him neck as well as a red Bow tie for Christmas pictures. He's an early Christmas present for all of us.

Haro and Willie get along great. Willie loves playing with him and Haro enjoys having a playmate.

More importantly is he doesn't jump, Liam's not scared of him and.....

Liam an Willie are best friends. Willie is great therapy for Liam. We're teaching him how to love the puppy and take care of him. Liam loves to pet him. At first the texture of Willies fur was weird for him but everyday that goes by he handles it better. (Liam still has texture issues but he's been doing great).

Miss Lanie loves Willie so much she wanted him to sleep in her room. We said no but did make a bed in the laundry room for him since he's too small to be outside.

Everyone loves Willie boy.

I've officially put my foot down and said "no more!"  We've way too many pets. This momma is at her limit.
2 dogs (Haro & Willie)
1 rabbit (Droopie)
1 cat (Jack)
1 beta (Swimmie)

Work is going good. It's keeping me busy, has helped break my depression streak. I enjoy working. Justin has done great taking care I the kids. Liam is getting fat cheeks thanks to Justin. My job has paid for the kids Christmas presents. I'm proud to say that they are done! (A few stocking stuffers from Santa is all) I feel good that I was able to provide that for them. Everytime I think "I'm too tired to go to work" I think of them and it gets me through.

MISSING

MISSING:

Blue Patchwork puppy named "Baba"

Baba has been with Liam for 6 months of hospital stays, surgeries and was even life flighted with Liam to UCSF.

Baba the patchwork puppy went OFFICIALLY missing today.

Last time we saw him, he was put into the laundry basket for washing.

Baba was the first and only toy Liam has named.

We've tried to substitude other toys in hopes that they will take but...

There's no substitution for a boy and his puppy.

If anyone has seen Baba, or knows where I can buy another one here in town or online, please let me know.

There is a reward for the return of Baba, or info on purchasing a new one..

One small boy's happiness and smiles.

Oh and it'll help make mommies life a little easier.

If you have any info on the missing puppy please contact Liam's mommy  :)
