Day 1 of Thankfulness

Often times in the midst of every day life, we forget to be thankful for the little things, or even the big things. I am guilty of this as are million of other people out there.

With thanksgiving coming up this month, it's the perfect time to think about what your thankful for. Sit down and pick one thing each day. Today was a bit hard to narrow it down to just one thing, so I started going through my pictures and it hit me.

Today, I am thankful for my daughter Lanie.

With everything going on with Liam over the years, Lanie doesn't get recognized as much as she deserves. She is my first born child (second pregnancy) and the daughter I always wanted. She's funny, smart, caring, loyal, creative and so much more.

Last month she won student of the month in her class. All her teachers and the staff who work with her often tell me how kind and smart she is and how they enjoy having her in their class. She even has two teachers who wanted her for second grade and now one is bummed she didn't get Lanie lol.

Lanie works hard in school, comes home and does her homework, chores and then computer homework since she goes to another class during computer time. She doesn't complain that she doesn't get to play a whole lot during the week. In fact she doesn't complain hardly at all.

When Liam was in NICU after birth, Lanie keep up going. Kept us strong. She made us laugh when we needed it and hugged us when we needed it without us ever saying a word. She's always been very intuitive.

She helps teach her brother Liam and care for him. She understand he needs more attention because of his medical needs and doesn't complain. Lanie is a trooper. She's stronger than any other little girl I have ever met and mature beyond her years.

Lanies favorite color is purple. She loves Shopkins, Ever After High, Monster High and Barbie. She loves to read, ride her scooter and is a happy kid. I am so blessed to be her mom.

Liam's 1st Thanksgiving Class Party

Today was a day to be thankful for.

A day filled with surprises and excitement.

Today I joined Liam's preschool class to celebrate Thanksgiving. It was amazing, and fun, and exciting. I am truely thankful for the blessings we received today.

The kids made Thanksgiving hats to resemble the Indians head dresses.

All the peices were already cut but the kids got to do the glueing. Liam needs some extra help because he can't squeeze the bottle. Teacher Joe (pictured above) is really great with him. Liam got to place the "feathers" anywhere and however he wanted. I love it.

Here he is sporting his awesomely amazing paper head dress. It turned out awesomely, amazingly, perfect. (Yea I'm partial).

I got a shock of a lifetime during the actual party. For these parties, all the teachers being something for the kids to eat and all the parents do too. He ate his Gerber puffs that he magically decided to start eating wensday. Then he ate part of a cookie.

If you know Liam, then you know he only drinks water. For a short period of time a year ago or so I was able to get him to drink watered down milk. But that was short lived. Well today teacher Joe game him a apple juice pouch because Liam expressed that he wanted it. I explained he only drank water but I didn't mind them trying as long as they didn't get mad when he didn't drink it.

What does Liam do?
Make me out to be a liar!
He drank at least half of that apple juice box. We were all surprised. For the first time they realized just how momentous and special it was when Liam would try something new. To drink anything other than water was momentous. We all celebrated.

Blessings come in all sizes. Even the "little" one can be the biggest. Today on the 21st day of November, I am thankful for Liam's preschool teachers and classmates. They've shown Liam how fun trying new things can be. Sure sometimes those new things aren't what's best for him or right at that moment but we can't be scared to try and grow.

Day 5 I am thankful for

Day 5: I am thankful that Liam is eating so much by mouth. He was a non stop eating machine today.
I'm pretty sure Liam is thankful for Doritos today, and Lanie is thankful for pizza lunchables.

Took Liam to the pedi for his first shot of synagis this morning. He weighs 22lbs and 7oz and is 34 1/2" tall. I looked at my baby book today and he weight more and is taller than I was when I was age 3 and he's only 2. Good job little man!!

Day:4 I am thankful for being able to work again.

Day 3: I am thankful for being able to spent time with family.

Day 2: I am thankful for both my children.

Day 1: I am thankful that Liam survived CDH and that he blesses the world with his smiles and laughter everyday. I am thankful our family survived CDH.

Thankful Day 4

Everyday in November your supposed to state what your thankful for.

1) I am thankful my daughter is perfectly healthy and happy

2) I am thankful my son has survived CDH

3) I am thankful to have had my family together at home for about 6 weeks now without any hospital stays seperating us.

4) I am thankful my husband and I were able to take a few hours for ourselves, away from the kids yesterday to recharge and enjoy some shopping for ourselves.
