The positives #3 Our great weekend

Its been a pretty great weekend for us. The kids got to see their Uncle, Tia and cousins. Tia got to watch Liam all by herself for the first time while I ran to the store. She was so happy. Lanie got to play with her friend she met at the bowling alley last weekend, a 5 year old boy names Caleb with blonde air and blue eyes lol. Such a polite kid! Today we had family time. The weather was so nice, we strapped Liam in the stroller and went outside for some fresh air. He got to watch us shoot our bows and listen to the birds. The fresh air did us all good. Liam's breathing nebulizer treatments seem to be working well for him. Unfortunately I have found out that I am allergic to the albuterol that he's using and now have a sinus infections. Ill suffer for the cause :)

Miss Lanie wore her camo shirt and mosy oak boots on saturday and thought she was cool stuff

The Positives #2 Great Day With The Kids

Liam's breathing treatments are going good so far. He helps hold the mask on. Liam is more comfortable today than he has been. He been able to take naps and just hang out in his bouncer with his toys. It already an improvement. He still has cranky moments of course, that’s not going to change over night, but the moments are far and few between.

Daddy helped give Liam's treatment this morning

Today she played Angry Birds on my computer all by herself and changed her dvd all by herself. Its hard for me to let go control because it feels like I missed so much while I was up at UCSF away from her. Her being so independent is a sign that she is adjusting well and has overcome what has happened but Liam and our family being split apart. Im so proud of her. She has magical hugs that seem to make everything better, that’s what we tell her.

We ended the day with Lanie “reading” storied to Liam before he was put to bed. The three of us were laying on the floor calm and relaxed. Lanie would finish one book then swap it out for another. It was such a sweet moment.

The Positives #1 Liam's Last Hospital Stay

I've decided to do a series of post that focus on the positives. I've been posting so many negative thing lately that I feel this will be good, ezpecially for me. It'll give me a chance to think about all the good things that make me smile or make me laugh and refocus my brain to set aside the negatives and not be so bothered or ruled by them. I'm going to start with Liam's last appointments at Valley Childrens:

1) Xrays were still clear
2) We cought Liam's condition very early so it made for a short stay
3) We loved our hoapitalist, she was very truthfull with us and discussed game plans
4) We got to see our favorite PCT Lydia again.
5) We were saved from eating the nasty hospital food because we packed campbells soup cups and other goodies. We were smart lol
6) Genetics ordered an entire genetic panel to make sure Liam doesn't have anymore genetic issues.

While waiting for his room Liam decided he's pull on daddy's facial hair

Lanie wasn't allowed into the patient room areas because she was under 12 years old. Daddy had to keep her entertained while I got Liam settled in his room. Lanie and Daddy went for a walk and the next thing I know theres a knock on Liams window.
Photobucket

After Liam was settled, I walked out into the waiting area to find Lanie passed out asleep with the flowers she picked for me. Poor baby was so tired she didn't even fight it..which was good for everyone lol
Photobucket

We had to leave Liam at the hospital so that we could go pack and drop Lanie off with family since we were expecting a hospital stay, Liam slept the entire time we were gone. This was the sweet face we came back to at the hospital
Photobucket

Admist all the gloom and negative of being stuck at a hospital, were many positive moments for us. It feels good to be ablet to look back at that and recognize those moments that we missed while we were there.
